[3:16] 1 tn Heb “Jeconiah,” a variation of the name “Jehoiachin” (also in v. 17).
[3:17] 2 tn Heb “prisoner.” Jehoiachin was carried off to Babylon as a prisoner. See 2 Chr 36:10.
[1:12] 3 tn Because of the difference between Greek style, which usually begins a sentence with a conjunction, and English style, which generally does not, the conjunction δέ (de) has not been translated here.
[1:12] 4 sn The Greek text and the KJV read Salathiel. Most modern English translations use the OT form of the name (cf. Ezra 3:2).
