Do you think that there is a place for a ministry which is solely based upon love without mentioning "the absolutes"?
Have you watched The Theology Program (or are you a student)? www.thetheologyprogram.com. I suggest you watching the Introduction to Theology course, it deals with these issues. Pay particular attention to the essentials/non-essentials section. As you will see, there are absolutes, and some are more important than others. I agree that love is the most important action of all, but it has to be motivated by a response to the truth of who God is and what he has done for us. Therefore, there are many key things that we need to know about God and history. It might be like saying to your spouse, "I don't want to know you, I just want to love you." With God, like with your spouse," the two are inseparable. You cannot love what you don't know else your love might be wrongly directed toward something God is not. When that happens our love for others becomes merely an act of philanthropy, not based on our love for God, which should be our true motive for loving others.
