Heart in Scripture
Heart is used in Scripture as the most comprehensive term for the authentic person. It is the part of our being where we desire, deliberate, and decide. It has been described as the place of conscious and decisive spiritual activity, the comprehensive term for a person as a whole; his feelings, desires, passions, thought, understanding and will, and the center of a person. The place to which God turns.

Heart
Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Mat 15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
Psalms 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Have you ever walked into a place and saw a beautiful bowl of juicy apples setting on a table, with not a mark on them. Did you know that one or two may contain worms inside.
Among the thousands of apples grown each year, some of them does contain worms. Although most producers of apples do their best to keep this from happening. Lots of people think the worm works his way in from the outside. It has been discovered that the worm comes from the inside. When the apple blossom is on the tree, an insect comes along and lays an egg in it. Sometimes later the worm hatches in the heart of the apple, then eats his way out. Sin like the worm begins in the heart. The above scriptures lets us know some of the things that a dirty sinful heart is full of. David knew what sin was. He had went so far as to have Uriah killed, because he desired to have his wife, Bathsheba. Jesus lets us know in the following scriptures how deep in sin David really did go.
Matthew 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Prisons are running over today with men and women who had evil thoughts coming out of their hearts because of sin, which caused them to maybe kill someone, rob a bank, rape, sell or do bad drugs, or many other types of crimes. No matter what comes out of a persons heart, if it is not Christ like it has got to be of Satan. The word of God lets us know that satan has been like a roaring lion, walking around on the earth for thousands of years. Seeking whom he may devour. We know he caused one third of the Angels to fall from grace with him, when God put him out of Heaven. The following is one of my favorite scriptures in the bible. Since childhood I have known this verse by heart.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
No matter how deep in sin a person has gone, God still loves them. This is why he strives so hard to get precious souls to listen to him. Remember you don't have to keep a sinful heart.
Jesus wants to wash it and make it clean and replace a right spirit inside of you, with his blood that he shed on Calvary. All anyone has to do is be willing to confess and forsake all their sins.
Pro 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
