11:14 but then they made a stand in the middle of that area. They defended it 1  and defeated the Philistines; the Lord gave them a great victory. 2 

1 Chronicles 21:6

21:6 Now Joab 3  did not number Levi and Benjamin, for the king’s edict disgusted him.

1 tn Heb “delivered it.”

2 tn Heb “and the Lord delivered [with] a great deliverance.”

3 tn Heb “he”; the proper name (“Joab”) has been substituted for the pronoun here for stylistic reasons; the proper name occurs at the end of the verse in the Hebrew text, where it has been replaced by the pronoun (“him”) in the translation.
