1 Chronicles 12:38

12:38 All these men were warriors who were ready to march. 1  They came to Hebron to make David king over all Israel by acclamation; 2  all the rest of the Israelites also were in agreement that David should become king. 3

29:19 Make my son Solomon willing to obey your commands, rules, and regulations, and to complete building the palace for which I have made preparations.” 6 

1 Chronicles 28:9

28:9 “And you, Solomon my son, obey 7  the God of your father and serve him with a submissive attitude and a willing spirit, 8  for the Lord examines all minds and understands every motive of one’s thoughts. If you seek him, he will let you find him, 9  but if you abandon him, he will reject you permanently.

1 tc Heb “all these [were] men of war, helpers of the battle line.” The present translation assumes an emendation of עֹדְרֵי (’odÿrey, “helpers of”) to עֹרְכֵי, (’orÿkhey, “prepared for”).

2 tn Heb “with a complete heart they came to Hebron to make David king over all Israel.”

3 tn Heb “and also all the rest of Israel [was of] one mind to make David king.”
