David’s Prestige Grows

14:1 King Hiram of Tyre 1  sent messengers to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, 2  and carpenters to build a palace for him.

1 Chronicles 21:18

21:18 So the Lord’s messenger told Gad to instruct David to go up and build 3  an altar for the Lord on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

21:30 But David could not go before it to seek God’s will, for he was afraid of the sword of the Lord’s messenger.
