1 Chronicles 16:11

16:11 Seek the Lord and the strength he gives!

Seek his presence 1  continually!

1 Chronicles 16:27-28

16:27 Majestic splendor emanates from him, 2 

he is the source of strength and joy. 3 

16:28 Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the nations,

ascribe to the Lord splendor and strength!

1 Chronicles 13:8

13:8 while David and all Israel were energetically 4  celebrating before God, singing and playing various stringed instruments, 5  tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

1 tn Heb “face.”

2 tn Heb “majesty and splendor [are] before him.”

3 tn Heb “strength and joy [are] in his place.”

3 tn Heb “with all strength.”

4 tn Heb “with songs and with zithers [meaning uncertain] and with harps.” Due to the collocation with “harps,” some type of stringed instrument is probably in view.
