1 Kings 11:33

11:33 I am taking the kingdom from him ¹  because they have ²  abandoned me and worshiped the Sidonian goddess Astarte, the Moabite god Chemosh, and the Ammonite god Milcom. They have not followed my instructions ³  by doing what I approve and obeying my rules and regulations, like Solomon’s father David did. ⁴ 

1 Kings 14:8

14:8 I tore the kingdom away from the Davidic dynasty and gave it to you. But you are not like my servant David, who kept my commandments and followed me wholeheartedly by doing only what I approve. ⁵ 

1 Kings 15:5

15:5 He did this ⁶  because David had done what he approved ⁷  and had not disregarded any of his commandments ⁸  his entire lifetime, except for the incident involving Uriah the Hittite.

1 Kings 16:7

22:43 He followed in his father Asa’s footsteps and was careful to do what the Lord approved. ¹¹  (22:44) ¹²  However, the high places were not eliminated; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense on the high places.
