2:7 “Treat fairly 1  the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and provide for their needs, 2  because they helped me 3  when I had to flee from your brother Absalom.

1 Kings 3:6

3:6 Solomon replied, “You demonstrated 4  great loyalty to your servant, my father David, as he served 5  you faithfully, properly, and sincerely. 6  You have maintained this great loyalty to this day by allowing his son to sit on his throne. 7
