Solomon Moves the Ark into the Temple

8:1 ¹ Then Solomon convened in Jerusalem ²  Israel’s elders, all the leaders of the Israelite tribes and families, so they could witness the transferal of the ark of the Lord’s covenant from the city of David (that is, Zion). ³

12:27 If these people go up to offer sacrifices in the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem, ⁴  their loyalty could shift to their former master, ⁵  King Rehoboam of Judah. They might kill me and return to King Rehoboam of Judah.”

Rehoboam’s Reign over Judah

14:21 Now Rehoboam son of Solomon ruled in Judah. He ⁶  was forty-one years old when he became king and he ruled for seventeen years in Jerusalem, ⁷  the city the Lord chose from all the tribes of Israel to be his home. ⁸  His mother was an Ammonite woman ⁹  named Naamah.
