1 Kings 8:66

8:66 On the fifteenth day after the festival started, 1  he dismissed the people. They asked God to empower the king 2  and then went to their homes, happy and content 3  because of all the good the Lord had done for his servant David and his people Israel.

1 Kings 8:2

8:2 All the men of Israel assembled before King Solomon during the festival 4  in the month Ethanim 5  (the seventh month).

1 Kings 7:10

7:10 The foundation was made of large valuable stones, measuring either 15 feet or 12 feet. 6 

1 tn Heb “on the eighth day” (that is, the day after the second seven-day sequence).

2 tn Heb “they blessed the king.”

3 tn Heb “good of heart.”

4 sn The festival. This was the Feast of Tabernacles, see Lev 23:34.

5 sn The month Ethanim. This would be September-October in modern reckoning.

6 tn Heb “stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits” (it is unclear exactly what dimension is being measured). If both numbers refer to the length of the stones (cf. NCV, CEV, NLT), then perhaps stones of two different sizes were used in some alternating pattern.
