Psalms 132:13-14

132:13 Certainly 7  the Lord has chosen Zion;

he decided to make it his home. 8 

132:14 He said, 9  “This will be my resting place forever;

I will live here, for I have chosen it. 10

2 tn Heb “by placing my name there perpetually” (or perhaps, “forever”).

3 tn Heb “and my eyes and my heart will be there all the days.”

6 tn Heb “glorious things are spoken about you.” The translation assumes this is a general reference to compliments paid to Zion by those who live within her walls and by those who live in the surrounding areas and lands. Another option is that this refers to a prophetic oracle about the city’s glorious future. In this case one could translate, “wonderful things are announced concerning you.”

8 tn Heb “he desired it for his dwelling place.”

9 tn The words “he said” are added in the translation to clarify that what follows are the Lord’s words.
