13:8 Now you are declaring that you will resist the Lord’s rule through the Davidic dynasty. ¹  You have a huge army, ²  and bring with you the gold calves that Jeroboam made for you as gods.

25:15 The Lord was angry at Amaziah and sent a prophet to him, who said, “Why are you following ³  these gods ⁴  that could not deliver their own people from your power?” ⁵

⁸ tn Heb “angering me with all the work of their hands.” The present translation assumes this refers to idols they have manufactured (note the preceding reference to “other gods”). However, it is possible that this is a general reference to their sinful practices, in which case one might translate, “angering me by all the things they do.”
