2 Chronicles 18:29

2 Chronicles 24:27

24:27 The list of Joash’s ⁵  sons, the many prophetic oracles pertaining to him, and the account of his building project on God’s temple are included in the record of the Scroll of the Kings. ⁶  His son Amaziah replaced him as king.

¹ tn Heb “and with all their desire they sought him and he allowed himself to be found by them.”

² tn Heb “and the Lord gave them rest all around.”

³ tn The Hebrew verbal forms could be imperatives (“Disguise yourself and enter”), but this would make no sense in light of the immediately following context. The forms are better interpreted as infinitives absolute functioning as cohortatives (see IBHS 594 §35.5.2a). Some prefer to emend the forms to imperfects.
