Haggai 2:22

2:22 I will overthrow royal thrones and shatter the might of earthly kingdoms. ⁷  I will overthrow chariots and those who ride them, and horses and their riders will fall as people kill one another. ⁸ 

Zechariah 14:13

14:13 On that day there will be great confusion from the Lord among them; they will seize each other and attack one another violently.

Revelation 6:4

6:4 And another horse, fiery red, ⁹  came out, and the one who rode it ¹⁰  was granted permission ¹¹  to take peace from the earth, so that people would butcher ¹²  one another, and he was given a huge sword.

³ tn Heb “and they will fight, a man against his brother, and a man against his neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.” Civil strife will extend all the way from the domestic level to the provincial arena.

⁶ tn The words “of military destruction” have been supplied in the translation to make the metaphor clear. The metaphor has shifted from that of God as a lion, to God as a warrior, to God as a judge, to God as the author of the storm winds of destruction.
