2 Chronicles 20:8

20:8 They settled down in it and built in it a temple ¹  to honor you, ²  saying,

6:27 then listen from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Certainly ³  you will then teach them the right way to live ⁴  and send rain on your land that you have given your people to possess. ⁵

2 Chronicles 9:4

9:4 the food in his banquet hall, ⁸  his servants and attendants ⁹  in their robes, his cupbearers in their robes, and his burnt sacrifices which he presented in the Lord’s temple, ¹⁰  she was amazed. ¹¹

² tn Heb “for your name.” The word “name” sometimes refers to one’s reputation or honor (thus the translation here, “to honor you”).

³ tn The present translation understands כִּי (ki) in an emphatic or asseverative sense (“Certainly”). Other translation have “indeed” (NASB), “when” (NRSV), “so” (NEB), or leave the word untranslated (NIV).

⁴ tn Heb “the good way in which they should walk.”

⁵ tn Or “for an inheritance.”
