The Building of the Temple

3:1 Solomon began building the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem ¹⁶  on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. This was the place that David prepared at the threshing floor of Ornan ¹⁷  the Jebusite.

2 Chronicles 6:26

6:26 “The time will come when ¹⁸  the skies ¹⁹  are shut up tightly and no rain falls because your people ²⁰  sinned against you. When they direct their prayers toward this place, renew their allegiance to you, ²¹  and turn away from their sin because you punish ²²  them,

You humbled yourself before me, tore your clothes and wept before me, and I have heard you,’ says the Lord. 34:28 ‘Therefore I will allow you to die and be buried in peace. ²⁷  You will not have to witness all the disaster I will bring on this place and its residents.’”’” Then they reported back to the king.

2 Chronicles 24:11

24:11 Whenever the Levites brought the chest to the royal accountant and they saw there was a lot of silver, the royal scribe and the accountant of the high priest emptied the chest and then took it back to its place. They went through this routine every day and collected a large amount of silver.
