2 Chronicles 26:23

26:23 Uzziah passed away 1  and was buried near his ancestors 2  in a cemetery 3  belonging to the kings. (This was because he had a skin disease.) 4  His son Jotham replaced him as king.

Isaiah’s Commission

6:1 In the year of King Uzziah’s death, 5  I saw the sovereign master 6  seated on a high, elevated throne. The hem of his robe filled the temple.

1 tn Heb “lay down with his fathers.”

2 tn Heb “fathers.”

3 tn Heb “a field of burial.”

4 tn Heb “for they said, ‘He had a skin disease.’”

5 sn That is, approximately 740 b.c.

6 tn The Hebrew term translated “sovereign master” here and in vv. 8, 11 is אֲדֹנָי (’adonay).
