2 Chronicles 33:11-13

33:11 So the Lord brought against them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria. They seized Manasseh, put hooks in his nose,¹ bound him with bronze chains, and carried him away to Babylon. 33:12 In his pain² Manasseh³ asked the Lord his God for mercy⁴ and truly⁵ humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.⁶ 33:13 When he prayed to the Lord,⁷ the Lord⁸ responded to him⁹ and answered favorably¹⁰ his cry for mercy. The Lord¹¹ brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh realized that the Lord is the true God.

Daniel 9:3-4

9:3 So I turned my attention¹² to the Lord God¹³ to implore him by prayer and requests, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.¹⁴ 9:4 I prayed to the LORD my God, confessing in this way:

“O Lord,¹⁵ great and awesome God who is faithful to his covenant¹⁶ with those who love him and keep his commandments,
