¹ tn The words “O Lord” do not appear in the Hebrew text, but they are supplied in the translation for clarification; Solomon addresses the Lord in prayer at this point.

² tn Heb “so they may know my service and the service of the kingdoms of the lands.”

³ tn Heb “and Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel.”

⁴ tn Heb “the word of the Lord.” Jehoshaphat is requesting a prophetic oracle revealing the Lord’s will in the matter and their prospects for success. For examples of such oracles, see 2 Sam 5:19, 23-24.
