8:5 He made upper Beth Horon and lower Beth Horon fortified cities with walls and barred gates, ¹ 

2 Chronicles 32:30

32:30 Hezekiah dammed up the source of the waters of the Upper Gihon and directed them down to the west side of the City of David. ²  Hezekiah succeeded in all that he did.

¹ tn Heb “and he built…[as] cities of fortification, [with] walls, doors, and a bar.”

² sn The phrase the City of David refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.
