8:1 Now we make known to you, brothers and sisters, 1 the grace of God given to the churches of Macedonia, 8:2 that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth 2 of their generosity.
4:1 So then, my brothers and sisters, 11 dear friends whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand in the Lord in this way, my dear friends!
4:10 I have great joy in the Lord because now at last you have again expressed your concern for me. (Now I know you were concerned before but had no opportunity to do anything.) 12 4:11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance.
