13:3 The Lord was furious with ¹  Israel and handed them over to ²  King Hazael of Syria and to Hazael’s son Ben Hadad for many years. ³ 

2 Kings 24:20

24:20 What follows is a record of what happened to Jerusalem and Judah because of the Lord’s anger; he finally threw them out of his presence. ⁴  Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

2 Kings 2:14

2:14 He took the cloak that had fallen off Elijah, ⁵  hit the water with it, and said, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” When he hit the water, it divided and Elisha crossed over.

¹ tn Heb “and the anger of the Lord burned against.”

² tn Heb “he gave them into the hand of.”

³ tn Heb “all the days.”

⁴ tn Heb “Surely [or, ‘for’] because of the anger of the Lord this happened in Jerusalem and Judah until he threw them out from upon his face.”

⁷ tn Heb “Elijah’s cloak, which had fallen off him.” The wording is changed slightly in the translation for the sake of variety of expression (see v. 13).
