2 Kings 4:37

4:37 She came in, fell at his feet, and bowed down. Then she picked up her son and left.

Esther 8:3

8:3 Then Esther again spoke with the king, falling at his feet. She wept and begged him for mercy, that he might nullify the evil of Haman the Agagite which he had intended against the Jews.

Matthew 18:29

18:29 Then his fellow slave threw himself down and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will repay you.’

sn As in 7:4 Esther avoids implicating the king in this plot. Instead Haman is given sole responsibility for the plan to destroy the Jews.

tn Grk “begged him, saying.” The participle λέγων (legwn) is redundant here in contemporary English and has not been translated.
