9:14 Then Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi conspired against Joram.

Jehu the Assassin

Now Joram had been in Ramoth Gilead with the whole Israelite army, ¹  guarding against an invasion by King Hazael of Syria.

2 Kings 10:31

10:31 But Jehu did not carefully and wholeheartedly obey the law of the Lord God of Israel. ²  He did not repudiate the sins which Jeroboam had encouraged Israel to commit. ³ 

2 Kings 12:21

12:21 His servants Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer murdered him. ⁴  He was buried ⁵  with his ancestors in the city of David. His son Amaziah replaced him as king.

2 Kings 22:14

22:14 So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Acbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shullam son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, the supervisor of the wardrobe. ⁶  (She lived in Jerusalem in the Mishneh ⁷  district.) They stated their business, ⁸
