22:6 The ropes of Sheol ¹  tightened around me; ² 

the snares of death trapped me. ³

8:2 He defeated the Moabites. He made them lie on the ground and then used a rope to measure them off. He put two-thirds of them to death and spared the other third. ⁴  The Moabites became David’s subjects and brought tribute. ⁵ 

2 Samuel 17:13

17:13 If he regroups in a city, all Israel will take up ropes to that city and drag it down to the valley, so that not a single pebble will be left there!”
