5:9 So David lived in the fortress and called it the City of David. David built all around it, from the terrace inwards.

2 Samuel 6:10

6:10 So David was no longer willing to bring the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. David left it in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

2 Samuel 8:6

8:6 David placed garrisons in the territory of the Arameans of Damascus; the Arameans became David’s subjects and brought tribute. The Lord protected ¹  David wherever he campaigned. ² 

2 Samuel 12:19

12:19 When David saw that his servants were whispering to one another, he ³  realized that the child was dead. So David asked his servants, “Is the child dead?” They replied, “Yes, he’s dead.”
