Daniel 2:6

2:6 But if you can disclose the dream and its interpretation, you will receive from me gifts, a reward, and considerable honor. So disclose to me the dream and its interpretation!”

Daniel 3:21

3:21 So those men were tied up while still wearing their cloaks, trousers, turbans, and other clothes, ¹  and were thrown into the furnace ²  of blazing fire.

Daniel 5:20

5:20 And when his mind ³  became arrogant ⁴  and his spirit filled with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and his honor was removed from him.

¹ sn There is a great deal of uncertainty with regard to the specific nature of these items of clothing.

² tn Aram “into the midst of the furnace.” For stylistic reasons the words “the midst of” have been left untranslated.

² sn The point of describing Nebuchadnezzar as arrogant is that he had usurped divine prerogatives, and because of his immense arrogance God had dealt decisively with him.
