Daniel 7:18

7:18 The holy ones of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will take possession of the kingdom forever and ever.’

Daniel 8:11

8:11 It also acted arrogantly against the Prince of the army, from whom the daily sacrifice was removed and whose sanctuary was thrown down.

Daniel 12:3

12:3 But the wise will shine

like the brightness of the heavenly expanse.

And those bringing many to righteousness

will be like the stars forever and ever.

sn The expression holy ones is either a reference to angels or to human beings devoted to God.

sn The prince of the army may refer to God (cf. “whose sanctuary” later in the verse) or to the angel Michael (cf. 12:1).

tn Or perhaps “and by him,” referring to Antiochus rather than to God.

sn Here the sanctuary is a reference to the temple of God in Jerusalem.
