Daniel 8:3

8:3 I looked up ¹  and saw ²  a ³  ram with two horns standing at the canal. Its two horns were both long, ⁴  but one was longer than the other. The longer one was coming up after the shorter one.

Daniel 8:5

8:5 While I was contemplating all this, ⁵  a male goat ⁶  was coming from the west over the surface of all the land ⁷  without touching the ground. This goat had a conspicuous horn ⁸  between its eyes.

Daniel 9:18

9:18 Listen attentively, ⁹  my God, and hear! Open your eyes and look on our desolated ruins ¹⁰  and the city called by your name. ¹¹  For it is not because of our own righteous deeds that we are praying to you, ¹²  but because your compassion is abundant.

¹¹ tn Heb “over which your name is called.” Cf. v. 19. This expression implies that God is the owner of his city, Jerusalem. Note the use of the idiom in 2 Sam 12:28; Isa 4:1; Amos 9:12.

¹² tn Heb “praying our supplications before you.”
