Deuteronomy 1:3

Deuteronomy 1:33

Deuteronomy 2:7

Deuteronomy 29:5

29:5 I have led you through the desert for forty years. Your clothing has not worn out ¹⁰  nor have your sandals ¹¹  deteriorated.

Psalms 136:16

136:16 to the one who led his people through the wilderness,

for his loyal love endures,

Amos 2:10

2:10 I brought you up from the land of Egypt;

I led you through the wilderness for forty years

so you could take the Amorites’ land as your own.

¹ tn Heb “in” or “on.” Here there is a contrast between the ordinary time of eleven days (v. 2) and the actual time of forty years, so “not until” brings out that vast disparity.
