12:24 You must not eat it! You must pour it out on the ground like water.

Deuteronomy 15:22

15:22 You may eat it in your villages, 1  whether you are ritually impure or clean, 2  just as you would eat a gazelle or an ibex.

12:25 You must not eat it so that it may go well with you and your children after you; you will be doing what is right in the Lord’s sight. 3

2 tc The LXX adds ἐν σοί (en soi, “among you”) to make clear that the antecedent is the people and not the animals. That is, the people, whether ritually purified or not, may eat such defective animals.

1 tc Heb “in the eyes of the Lord.” The LXX adds “your God” to create the common formula, “the Lord your God.” The MT is preferred precisely because it does not include the stereotyped formula; thus it more likely preserves the original text.
