Deuteronomy 25:16

25:16 For anyone who acts dishonestly in these ways is abhorrent ¹  to the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 29:24

29:24 Then all the nations will ask, “Why has the Lord done all this to this land? What is this fierce, heated display of anger ²  all about?”

¹ tn The Hebrew term translated here “abhorrent” (תּוֹעֵבָה, to’evah) speaks of attitudes and/or behaviors so vile as to be reprehensible to a holy God. See note on the word “abhorrent” in Deut 7:25.

² tn Heb “this great burning of anger”; KJV “the heat of this great anger.”
