26:16 Today the Lord your God is commanding you to keep these statutes and ordinances, something you must do with all your heart and soul.

Deuteronomy 28:8

28:8 The Lord will decree blessing for you with respect to your barns and in everything you do – yes, he will bless you in the land he is giving you.

Deuteronomy 30:2

30:2 Then if you and your descendants turn to the Lord your God and obey him with your whole mind and being just as I am commanding you today,

Deuteronomy 30:6

30:6 The Lord your God will also cleanse your heart and the hearts of your descendants so that you may love him with all your mind and being and so that you may live.

tn Or “mind and being”; cf. NCV “with your whole being”; TEV “obey them faithfully with all your heart.”

tn Heb “the Lord your God.” Because English would not typically reintroduce the proper name following a relative pronoun (“he will bless…the Lord your God is giving”), the pronoun (“he”) has been employed here in the translation.

tn Heb “sons” (so NASB); KJV, ASV, NAB, NIV, NRSV, NLT “children.”

tn Or “heart and soul” (also in vv. 6, 10).

tn Heb “according to all.”

tn Heb “circumcise” (so KJV, NAB, NIV, NRSV); TEV “will give you and your descendents obedient hearts.” See note on the word “cleanse” in Deut 10:16.

tn Heb “seed” (so KJV, ASV).

tn Heb “the Lord your God.” See note on the second occurrence of the word “he” in v. 3.
