7:25 You must burn the images of their gods, but do not covet the silver and gold that covers them so much that you take it for yourself and thus become ensnared by it; for it is abhorrent ¹  to the Lord your God.

Leviticus 23:13

23:13 along with its grain offering, two tenths of an ephah of ³  choice wheat flour ⁴  mixed with olive oil, as a gift to the Lord, a soothing aroma, ⁵  and its drink offering, one fourth of a hin of wine. ⁶ 

¹ tn The Hebrew word תּוֹעֵבָה (to’evah, “abhorrent; detestable”) describes anything detestable to the Lord because of its innate evil or inconsistency with his own nature and character. Frequently such things (or even persons) must be condemned to annihilation (חֵרֶם, kherem) lest they become a means of polluting or contaminating others (cf. Deut 13:17; 20:17-18). See M. ² tn Heb “for all these abominations the men of the land who were before you have done.”

⁶ tn Heb “wine, one fourth of the hin.” A pre-exilic hin is about 3.6 liters (= ca. 1 quart), so one fourth of a hin would be about one cup.
