7:8 When the king returned from the palace garden to the banquet of wine, Haman was throwing himself down 1 on the couch where Esther was lying. 2 The king exclaimed, “Will he also attempt to rape the queen while I am still in the building!”
As these words left the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.
2:8 They stretch out on clothing seized as collateral;
they do so right 3 beside every altar!
They drink wine bought with the fines they have levied;
they do so right in the temple 4 of their God! 5
6:4 They lie around on beds decorated with ivory, 6
and sprawl out on their couches.
They eat lambs from the flock,
and calves from the middle of the pen.
