5:1 When all the Amorite kings on the west side of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the seacoast heard how the Lord had dried up the water of the Jordan before the Israelites while they 6 crossed, they lost their courage and could not even breathe for fear of the Israelites. 7
7:2 Joshua sent men from Jericho 8 to Ai (which is located near Beth Aven, east of Bethel 9 ) and instructed them, “Go up and spy on the land.” So the men went up and spied on Ai.
