Ezekiel 18:30

18:30 “Therefore I will judge each person according to his conduct, 1  O house of Israel, declares the sovereign Lord. Repent 2  and turn from all your wickedness; then it will not be an obstacle leading to iniquity. 3 

Ezekiel 44:12

44:12 Because they used to minister to them before their idols, and became a sinful obstacle 4  to the house of Israel, consequently I have made a vow 5  concerning them, declares the sovereign Lord, that they will be responsible 6  for their sin.

1 tn Heb “ways.”

2 tn The verbs and persons in this verse are plural whereas the individual has been the subject of the chapter.

3 tn Or “leading to punishment.”

4 tn Heb “a stumbling block of iniquity.” This is a unique phrase of the prophet Ezekiel (cf. also Ezek 7:19; 14:3, 4, 7; 18:30).

5 tn Heb “I lifted up my hand.”

6 tn Heb “will bear.”
