30:15 I will pour out my anger upon Pelusium, 3

I will cut off 4 the hordes of Thebes.
1 tn Or “calm myself.”
2 tn The Hebrew noun translated “jealousy” is used in the human realm to describe suspicion of adultery (Num 5:14ff.; Prov 6:34). Since Israel’s relationship with God was often compared to a marriage this term is appropriate here. The term occurs elsewhere in Ezekiel in 8:3, 5; 16:38, 42; 23:25.
3 tn Heb “Sin” (so KJV, NASB), a city commonly identified with Pelusium, a fortress on Egypt’s northeastern frontier.
4 tn Or “kill.”
5 sn See Ezek 7:8; 9:8; 14:19; 20:8, 13, 21; 22:22; 30:15.
6 sn For the concept of defiling the land in legal literature, see Lev 18:28; Deut 21:23.
