Genesis 50:24

50:24 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die. But God will surely come to you ¹  and lead you up from this land to the land he swore on oath to give ²  to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Genesis 50:26

50:26 So Joseph died at the age of 110. ³  After they embalmed him, his body ⁴  was placed in a coffin in Egypt.

Acts 7:14-16

7:14 So Joseph sent a message ⁵  and invited ⁶  his father Jacob and all his relatives to come, seventy-five people ⁷  in all. 7:15 So Jacob went down to Egypt and died there, ⁸  along with our ancestors, ⁹  7:16 and their bones ¹⁰  were later moved to Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought for a certain sum of money ¹¹  from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.

¹ tn The verb פָּקַד (paqad) means “to visit,” i.e., to intervene for blessing or cursing; here Joseph announces that God would come to fulfill the promises by delivering them from Egypt. The statement is emphasized by the use of the infinitive absolute with the verb: “God will surely visit you.”

² tn The words “to give” are supplied in the translation for clarity and for stylistic reasons.
