Isaiah 10:11

10:11 As I have done to Samaria and its idols,

so I will do to Jerusalem and its idols.”

Isaiah 27:3

27:3 I, the Lord, protect it;

I water it regularly.

I guard it night and day,

so no one can harm it.

Isaiah 63:10

63:10 But they rebelled and offended his holy Spirit,

so he turned into an enemy

and fought against them.

tn The statement is constructed as a rhetorical question in the Hebrew text: “Is it not [true that] just as I have done to Samaria and its idols, so I will do to Jerusalem and its idols?”

tn Heb “her.” Apparently “vineyard” is the antecedent, though normally this noun is understood as masculine (see Lev 25:3, however).

tn Or perhaps, “constantly.” Heb “by moments.”

tn Heb “lest [someone] visit [harm] upon it, night and day I guard it.”

tn Or “grieved, hurt the feelings of.”

sn The phrase “holy Spirit” occurs in the OT only here (in v. 11 as well) and in Ps 51:11 (51:13 HT), where it is associated with the divine presence.
