Isaiah 25:6

25:6 The Lord who commands armies will hold a banquet for all the nations on this mountain.

At this banquet there will be plenty of meat and aged wine –

tender meat and choicest wine.

Isaiah 62:6

62:6 I post watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;

they should keep praying all day and all night.

You who pray to the Lord, don’t be silent!

sn That is, Mount Zion (see 24:23); cf. TEV; NLT “In Jerusalem.”

tn Heb “And the Lord who commands armies [traditionally, the Lord of hosts] will make for all the nations on this mountain a banquet of meats, a banquet of wine dregs, meats filled with marrow, dregs that are filtered.”

sn The speaker here is probably the prophet.

tn Heb “all day and all night continually they do not keep silent.” The following lines suggest that they pray for the Lord’s intervention and restoration of the city.

tn Or “invoke”; NIV “call on”; NASB, NRSV “remind.”
