Isaiah 60:21

60:21 All of your people will be godly; ¹ 

they will possess the land permanently.

I will plant them like a shoot;

they will be the product of my labor,

through whom I reveal my splendor. ² 

Psalms 92:12-15

92:12 The godly ³  grow like a palm tree;

they grow high like a cedar in Lebanon. ⁴ 

92:13 Planted in the Lord’s house,

they grow in the courts of our God.

92:14 They bear fruit even when they are old;

they are filled with vitality and have many leaves. ⁵ 

92:15 So they proclaim that the Lord, my protector,

is just and never unfair. ⁶ 

Jeremiah 17:7-8

17:7 My blessing is on those people who trust in me,

who put their confidence in me. ⁷ 

17:8 They will be like a tree planted near a stream

whose roots spread out toward the water.

It has nothing to fear when the heat comes.

Its leaves are always green.

It has no need to be concerned in a year of drought.

It does not stop bearing fruit.

Matthew 7:17-19

7:17 In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad ⁸  tree bears bad fruit. 7:18 A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit. 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
