65:3 These people continually and blatantly offend me 1

21:2 I have received a distressing message: 5
“The deceiver deceives,

21:6 For this is what the sovereign master 7 has told me:
“Go, post a guard!
He must report what he sees.
1 tn Heb “the people who provoke me to anger to my face continually.”
2 tn Or “gardens” (KJV, NASB, NIV, NRSV, NLT).
3 tn Or perhaps, “on tiles.”
4 tn Heb “who walked [in] the way that is not good, after their thoughts.”
5 tn Heb “a severe revelation has been related to me.”
6 sn This is often interpreted to mean “all the groaning” that Babylon has caused others.
7 tn The Hebrew term translated “sovereign master” here and in vv. 8, 16 is אֲדֹנָי (’adonay).
