Judges 4:9

4:9 She said, “I will indeed go with you. But you will not gain fame ¹  on the expedition you are undertaking, ²  for the Lord will turn Sisera over to a woman.” ³  Deborah got up and went with Barak to Kedesh.

Judges 6:21

6:21 The Lord’s messenger touched the meat and the unleavened bread with the tip of his staff. ⁴  Fire flared up from the rock and consumed the meat and unleavened bread. The Lord’s messenger then disappeared. ⁵ 

Judges 19:18

19:18 The Levite ⁶  said to him, “We are traveling from Bethlehem ⁷  in Judah to the remote region of the Ephraimite hill country. That’s where I’m from. I had business in Bethlehem in Judah, but now I’m heading home. ⁸  But no one has invited me into their home.

² tn Heb “on [account of (?)] the way which you are walking.” Another option is to translate, “due to the way you are going about this.” In this case direct reference is made to Barak’s hesitancy as the reason for his loss of glory.

³ tn Heb “for into the hands of a woman the Lord will sell Sisera.”

⁴ tn Heb “extended the tip of the staff which was in his hand and touched the meat and unleavened bread.”
