Judges 7:12

7:12 Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and the people from the east covered the valley like a swarm of locusts. Their camels could not be counted; they were as innumerable as the sand on the seashore.

Judges 8:11

8:11 Gideon went up the road of the nomads east of Nobah and Jogbehah and ambushed the surprised army.

tn Heb “Midian, Amalek, and the sons of the east were falling in the valley like locusts in great number.”

tn Heb “the ones living in tents.”

tn Heb “and attacked the army, while the army was secure.” The Hebrew term בֶטַח (vetakh, “secure”) probably means the army was undefended (see R. G. Boling, Judges [AB], 156), not suspecting an attack at that time and place.
