Judges 7:2

7:2 The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men for me to hand Midian over to you. 1  Israel might brag, 2  ‘Our own strength has delivered us.’ 3 

Judges 11:26

11:26 Israel has been living in Heshbon and its nearby towns, in Aroer and its nearby towns, and in all the cities along the Arnon for three hundred years! Why did you not reclaim them during that time?

1 tn Heb “the people who are with you are too numerous for me to give Midian into their hand.”

2 tn Heb “might glorify itself against me.”

3 tn Heb “my hand has delivered me.”
