9:17 my father fought for you; he risked his life¹ and delivered you from Midian’s power.²

Judges 6:15

6:15 Gideon³ said to him, “But Lord,⁴ how⁵ can I deliver Israel? Just look! My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my family.”⁶

Judges 6:24

Judges 19:4-6

19:4 His father-in-law, the girl’s father, persuaded him to stay with him for three days, and they ate and drank together, and spent the night there. 19:5 On the fourth day they woke up early and the Levite got ready to leave.¹² But the girl’s father said to his son-in-law, “Have a bite to eat for some energy,¹³ then you can go.” 19:6 So the two of them sat down and had a meal together.¹⁴ Then the girl’s father said to the man, “Why not stay another night and have a good time!”¹⁵

Judges 19:8

19:8 He woke up early in the morning on the fifth day so he could leave, but the girl’s father said, “Get some energy.¹⁶ Wait until later in the day to leave!”¹⁷ So they ate a meal together.

Gideon Meets Some Visitors

6:11 The Lord’s angelic messenger¹⁸ came and sat down under the oak tree in Ophrah owned by Joash the Abiezrite. He arrived while Joash’s son Gideon¹⁹ was threshing²⁰ wheat in a winepress²¹ so he could hide it from the Midianites.²²

Judges 9:18

9:18 But you have attacked²³ my father’s family²⁴ today. You murdered his seventy legitimate²⁵ sons on one stone and made Abimelech, the son of his female slave, king over the leaders of Shechem, just because he is your close relative.²⁶

Judges 9:28

9:28 Gaal son of Ebed said, “Who is Abimelech and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? Is he not the son of Jerub-Baal, and is not Zebul the deputy he appointed?²⁷ Serve the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem! But why should we serve Abimelech?²⁸

Judges 11:36

11:36 She said to him, “My father, since²⁹ you made an oath to the Lord, do to me as you promised.³⁰ After all, the Lord vindicated you before³¹ your enemies, the Ammonites.”

Judges 19:3

19:3 her husband came³² after her, hoping he could convince her to return.³³ He brought with him his servant³⁴ and a pair of donkeys. When she brought him into her father’s house and the girl’s father saw him, he greeted him warmly.³⁵

Judges 19:9

19:9 When the man got ready to leave³⁶ with his concubine and his servant,³⁷ his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said to him, “Look! The day is almost over!³⁸ Stay another night! Since the day is over,³⁹ stay another night here and have a good time. You can get up early tomorrow and start your trip home.”⁴⁰
