Job 34:32

If I have done evil, I will do so no more.’

Ezekiel 18:30-31

18:30 “Therefore I will judge each person according to his conduct, O house of Israel, declares the sovereign Lord. Repent and turn from all your wickedness; then it will not be an obstacle leading to iniquity. 18:31 Throw away all your sins you have committed and fashion yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why should you die, O house of Israel?

James 4:8

4:8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded.

tc The MT has “you will be built up” (תִּבָּנֶה, tibbaneh). But the LXX has “humble yourself” (reading תְּעַנֶּה [tÿanneh] apparently). Many commentators read this; Dahood has “you will be healed.”

tn Heb “what I do not see,” more specifically, “apart from [that which] I see.”

tn Heb “ways.”

tn The verbs and persons in this verse are plural whereas the individual has been the subject of the chapter.

tn Or “leading to punishment.”

sn In Ezek 11:19, 36:26 the new heart and new spirit are promised as future blessings.

tn Or “two-minded” (the same description used in 1:8).
