Job 31:26

31:26 if I looked at the sun when it was shining,

and the moon advancing as a precious thing,

Ephesians 5:27

5:27 so that he may present the church to himself as glorious – not having a stain or wrinkle, or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

tn Heb “light”; but parallel to the moon it is the sun. This section speaks of false worship of the sun and the moon.

tn The use of the pronoun αὐτός (autos) is intensive and focuses attention on Christ as the one who has made the church glorious.

tn Grk “but in order that it may be holy and blameless.”
